Museum Land 8th Dec ’24

December 8 @ 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

£125.00
V&A museum London photography

A London museum photo course set amongst the three great museums of South Kensington, is my location for this workshop. My London museum photo course, introduces and develops both beginners and intermediates to the next levels of creative photography. Following an introductory presentation, I will develop your observational camera skills on location. After this, there will be a feedback critique of your photographs to consolidate your understanding. The afternoon session will start with a simple presentation, demonstrating the creative benefits of setting up your camera beyond ‘Auto’. For those working with ‘Smart-phone’ technology, we will concentrate more on the aesthetic decision making process and composition. Both interiors and exteriors of the world renowned museums, offer a wealth of inspiration for London photo course enthusiasts.

London museum photo course
London hosts three of the world’s great museums at South Kensington, with the V&A Museum; the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum all neighbours. The Victoria and Albert Museum in London is the world’s largest museum of applied and decorative arts and design. The V&A covering 12.5 acres, was founded in 1852 and named after Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. The Natural History Museum in London exhibits a vast range of specimens from various segments of natural history. Whilst the Science Museum founded in 1857, is today one of London’s major attractions. All three of my London Museum photo course locations are freely available with a pre-arranged access time. So whatever the weather we can be covered!

Why I am well qualified to teach
I feel very fortunate in having gained exemplary teaching experience, and have used this to structure my Photography workshop London. I have regularly lectured at Central Saint Martins (University of the Arts, London), London College of Communication and Norwich University of the Arts. This, together with having worked for some of the Uk’s most iconic organisations, has helped build and define my career. It has also been a source of inspiration for me, in developing my Italian Photography Course Holidays. Amongst many influential clients, I have been commissioned by the BBC, the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Design Council the National Portrait Gallery and the V&A Museum. More recently I have been invited to become a Getty Images photographer and so I feel that all these experiences have contributed to me being a well qualified.

Tony Smith of Felixstowe said: “This Photography Course really helped my understanding of photography as a novice and has given me great confidence to put what I learnt into practice. Can’t wait!!”

Ellie Deplegde of Ovington said: “I was recently on a one day course and had intended to write to you, to let you know how much I enjoyed the day, much sooner. I then decided to show you how much my pictures have improved (see attached) thanks to your advice. I feel I am more creative and I now only ever shoot in manual mode (occasionally aperture priority), not something I had the confidence to do before. Obviously I still have a lot to learn but I love getting out there with my camera and experimenting. Thank you so much for your advice and I look forward to attending another course soon.”
