Italian photography holiday course

A Country House Hotel

Photography holidays in Italy

Our next workshop styled Italian Photography holiday course, is at the ‘Bacco e Bivacco’ Hotel, in central southern Italy. Hospitality and respect for local traditions, are strong points of this Italian family run ‘agriturismo’ Country House Hotel. The land it sits on is substantial, with splendid views to the nearby mountain range of Matese. ‘Bacco’ is well located by the foot of Matese Regional Park, near the beautiful mountain town of Castello del Matese. Travelling a little higher on the ‘snake road’ upwards, is the mountain town of Saint Gregorio, at almost 800 metres altitude.  The nearest town to ‘Bacco’ of San Potito Sannitico, is a few minutes drive away, as well as being a pleasant walk. The characters photographed here are either hotel clients or staff.

Central southern Italy locations

There are so many perfect photo scenarios for this workshop styled Italian photography holiday courses, in this unspoilt region. Far aside from tourism, you will struggle to hear a native English voice all week, well except for ours of course! Explore the nearby walled Roman town of Alife, local markets, waterfalls, mountain villages and the nearby Mountain lake of Matese. Check out our ‘Intro for the full photo course overview, as well as student feedback.

Country house accommodation

This rustic country house is a small comfortable hotel, becomes the base for Italian photography holiday course. The bedrooms are all en-suite, simple in style and without frills. We have eaten at Sara’s ‘Bacco e Bivacco’ many times and it is one of our favourite local restaurants. Authentic regional freshly cooked dishes, much of which is made with their own grown produce.

Italian photography holiday course

Our price for the seven night rural Italian photography holiday course, with tuition, is inclusive of breakfast, dinner, and pack lunch if required. Flight and transfers are not included, as the logistics are rather variable. However we have organised transfers as a clickable ‘door to door’ extra and we are happy to advise on planning. As ‘Bacco’ is off the Italian tourist ‘beaten track’, it is essential to have your own vehicle or car hire. Although the photo locations are reasonably close, you may want to explore the region between photo sessions. If you wish to lunch out, there are plenty of very inexpensive local restaurants, see blog!
